Mother–Child Playgroup

Play and Child Development

Dear parents, play is one of the most fundamental tools through which your child learns to move, communicate, socialize, and explore the world around them. From the very first months of life, babies begin learning by interacting with their environment. That is exactly why the Mother–Child Playgroup is one of the most effective learning environments supporting children’s sensory discoveries.

Sensory play activates all senses, helping children recognize, understand, and explore their surroundings, while supporting their cognitive and physical development. Research shows that children exposed to sensory play at an early age gain advantages in fine and gross motor skills, cognitive abilities, language development, communication, social adjustment, problem solving, and decision-making.

During early childhood, especially in the first three years, introducing children to diverse sensory experiences plays a critical role in brain development. Parent-involved playgroups therefore provide a wonderful experience that supports children’s social and emotional development.

Why Mother–Child Playgroup?
Located in Fatih, Istanbul, Silkworm Kindergarten’s Mother–Child Playgroup is a sensory discovery–based program specially designed for children aged 18–36 months. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, these play sessions provide children with the opportunity to explore safely alongside their mothers.

This program activates all senses and encourages children to participate actively in the learning process. Do you want your child to share their first social experiences in a safe environment? The Parent–Child Playgroup is the most joyful way of discovering, learning, and sharing!
