Time to meet nature

As Ipekbocegi Kindergarten, we celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day in the heart of nature, just as it is celebrated with great excitement around the world. As every year, this year as well, we meet our children in Florya Atatürk Forest and carry our learning journey outdoors, beyond classroom walls.

This meaningful day offers a unique opportunity for children to explore nature, feel the soil, hear the wind, and feed their curiosity by observing forest life. We allow them to experience that learning has no limits and that nature is the greatest teacher.

Throughout this experience, children will see nature as their classroom, trees as teachers, soil as their notebook, and the wind as their inspiration. Every moment outdoors becomes a learning journey that strengthens confidence, problem-solving, teamwork, sensory awareness, and love for nature.

We kindly ask families to support their children in preparing for this day, talk with them about the “outdoor school” concept, and prepare their nature backpack together. Sleeping early the night before and starting the morning refreshed will help them enjoy the day fully. Please arrive at school no later than 08:15.

Forest journal program

09:30 – Departure from school
10:15 – Arrival to forest & settling in
10:15–10:30 – Warm-up & nature exercise
10:30–10:45 – Forest circle & day planning
10:45–11:00 – Find our seasonal tree (orienteering)
11:00–12:00 – Outdoor exploration & learning workshops
12:00–12:30 – Lunch & sharing time
12:30–13:00 – Forest games
13:00–13:30 – Free time & farewell to the forest

Things to consider

Clothing suitable for nature conditions is essential.

• Nature overalls (very important)

• Nature boots (very important)

• Raincoat (very important)

• Backpack with clips (no unnecessary items)

• Resting mat

• Water bottle

• Healthy snack (seasonal fruit or skinless nuts)

• Optional: magnifying glass, compass, small camera

Important notes

• Trip may be postponed due to weather

• Backpack must remain minimal

• Permission form is mandatory

• Children not attending should rest at home
